Your safety and that of the motoring public are one of our top priorities. That’s why you’ll get unmatched training during your paid orientation when you join our ranks.  You’ll also get to experience first-hand what makes James J. Williams more than a job – but a family.

We will fly you to our office in Spokane, Washington, and we’ll pay for your room, breakfast and lunch while you’re here – dinner is your time to explore what Spokane has to offer.

New Driver Orientation FAQ’s

  • YES! You will be reimbursed for luggage fees up to 2 bags, 50 lbs max each, with proof of receipt.

  • NO!  You will have a single occupancy room all to yourself.

  • You’ll check out either Thursday or Friday of your orientation week, depending upon when your training session is complete.

  • The shuttle departs the motel at 6:30am each day.  Check with the front desk to confirm.  On Monday, you will leave Trans System at 3:00pm for your physical demands test, but the rest of the week you’ll be leaving at 5:00pm.

  • YES!  We’ll serve lunch during your orientation.  We invite you to explore what Spokane has to offer for your dinners, as they are your responsibility.

  • A system of collision avoidance driving training.  The concepts in the Smith System help drivers See, Think and React to driving challenges, and is designed to help keep you safe on the road.

  • Our three divisions – System Transport, TWT Refrigerated Service and James J. Williams Bulk Service Transport – total over 900 trucks and nearly 1300 employees.  Drivers from all divisions will be at your orientation – so it will be a great opportunity to discover the other divisions.
